Introduction
LIFT 2010
With ice cream vans, haircuts, b-boys, gothic musical theatre, the world’s only deafblind theatre company, pass the parcel on an epic scale and cardboard skyscrapers, it has been an eventful and fun-filled few weeks here at LIFT.
Yesterday we waved a final farewell to the LIFT 2010 festival, and we’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all who took part: the visiting companies and artists, volunteers and placements, venues and of course the LIFT audience and participants. Over 26 days, 395 visiting artists gave 88 performances at 13 different locations.
Some other numbers from the festival:
52,346 visits to the LIFT website during the festival
1483 new friends & followers on Facebook and Twitter
54 boxes of cereal bought for the cast of FML
40 volunteers who worked tirelessly on this year’s productions
13 languages spoken in the LIFT office over the festival
9 b-boys in former World Champion crew Top 9
8- number of times that a certain member of LIFT lost their iPhone and glasses
7 group hosts who took care of our visiting artists
4 mobile phones broken by the LIFT team in the first week
3 canisters of helium used to blow up the 100 yellow balloons that adorned the LIFT party
1- one LIFT 2010
Thank you to each and every person who was involved.
